Ali Nyoni 5th dan, led our free 6th Bristol Masterclass on Tuesday 11th September, with over 30 students enjoying a World Karate Federation kumite session. Sensei Ali put everyone through aerobic and flexibility drills, concentrating on how to fight for the audience to create excitement; fight for the judges to make sure of a committed and dynamic scoring technique; focussing on mental awareness and being ‘switched-on’ at all times.
Ali sensei is a World Karate Federation (WKF) World and European Masters medalist, AND five-times British Champion. He also holds international titles from representing his native country Zimbabwe, and several other regional and national titles, as well as fighting in the £10k Karate Tournament. He is a currently active on the World circuit, and trains with WKF legend Junior Lefevre. Ali is also one of only a couple of UK-based WKF coaches, and coaches Bath University to success at the British Universities Championships (BUCS). Ali sensei recently won the Basel International Open.
Ali has over 20 years of top level fighting and coaching experience, and represents the worldwide association Jindokai, led by Professor Stephen Chan OBE 9th Dan. We were delighted to host him, and thank everyone from Bristol Karate Centre and wider afield for supporting the event!
